Phi Eta Psi Fraternity, Inc. believes that Brotherhood is the cornerstone of our Fraternity’s eternal bond. The Imperial Brotherhood of Phi Eta Psi Fraternity, Inc. is anchored firmly in the belief that “we are our brother’s keeper.” The foundation of our Fraternal Brotherhood is based on mutual love and respect for one another. This love and respect for our individual members and the Fraternity are the inspiration for the often quoted exclamation, “Phi Psi until the day I die!”
"CELEBRATING A HALF CENTURY of FRATERNAL BROTHERHOOD"
1965 - 2015
The year 2015 represents the culmination and celebration of the vision that inspired eight young African-American college men to come together around a single idea. On April 5, 1965, the vision that inspired this great fraternal organization was born. Led by Willie Buck and fueled by the energy, efforts and imagination of seven other visionaries, a “new era” of Fraternal Brotherhood was launched to be known as Phi Eta Psi Fraternity.
The men that united under the vision of Phi Eta Psi Fraternity held their first meeting on April 15, 1965. A half century later, the Imperial Men of Phi Eta Psi Fraternity, Inc. continue to be united under this same vision. On April 5, 2015, we celebrate the vision that is now reality.
“Vision 50” is here! This is our year to positively change and make an impact on the world! I would like to recognize and thank our Founding Fathers for their tremendous contribution and commitment to this Fraternity. We pay homage and our profound respects to Founding Fathers Willie Buck, Lincoln Murphy and Ronald Thompson that have gone on to Eta Chapter. We are truly thankful and blessed to have with us Founding Fathers James Humphrey (Immediate Past Grand Archigeus), Eugene Tolbert (Grand Tamias), Leon Lucas, Rondy Harris, Jihad Hassan Sharif (Members of the Grand Chapter Lesathagenes). This repository of wisdom and fraternal history is priceless. I am thankful for the support and encouragement they have provided me.
As our Brothers come together in celebration and recognition of our great history and contribute to the building of our future, let us also consider those members that have gone on to Eta Chapter. Their contributions must never be forgotten.
I am blessed and honored to have had the opportunity to serve as the Grand Archigeus of Phi Eta Psi Fraternity, Inc. I am thankful that I have been able to journey into this historical period with my fellow Brothers. Preparing to step away from this position of such honor and responsibility, I offer to my successor my prayers and best wishes. The task and honor of leading this auspicious Brotherhood requires a substantial and unwavering commitment to the Brothers of Phi Eta Psi Fraternity, Inc. The leadership that will lead Phi Eta Psi into the next fifty years will require unmitigated drive, reverence, wisdom and insight. This tremendous responsibility requires the willingness to be a servant, as well as leader.
During my service, I endeavored to bring honor to our Eternal Brotherhood, our brand, our image and our legacy. I thank those who assisted me in these efforts. I want to applaud the efforts and commitment of our many members that have tirelessly worked for our beloved Brotherhood. The next fifty years will be devoted to the goal of making Phi Eta Psi the “Greatest Fraternity in the World.” It will take the sincere efforts of many to continue this vision. The Imperial Men of Phi Eta Psi Fraternity, Inc. celebrate our 50 year anniversary “together forever”!
