Anti-Hazing Policy

Phi Eta Psi Fraternity, Inc. Anti-Hazing Policy

Throughout our on-boarding process, we strive to create the atmosphere to develop leaders that will have a positive impact on the fraternity, college, and the local community. The on-boarding process for membership centers on leadership and professional development, positioning future members to have a positive impact within their respective communities.

Hazing or pledging activities of any nature are forbidden. Any member who violates this policy will be subject to disciplinary action by the university and the fraternity, Inc. Such activities, including but not limited to hazing, are prohibited. Hazing is defined as any action taken or situation created which involves or results in the abusive or violent treatment of a prospective brother while he is seeking membership in the fraternity; or any activity is undertaken, or situation created that subjects a student to physical deprivation, mental humiliation, or cruel coercion whether such activity occurs on or off the premises of the Fraternity; and that any such action is considered hazing whether it occurs on or off the premises where chapters and member's prospective members meet.

Hazing includes but is not limited to paddling, creating excessive fatigue; physical or psychological shocks; morally degrading or humiliating games and activities; drunkenness; wrongful harassing attacks upon an individual's personality, reputation, family life, or personal habits.
